Welcome to Handbag Whores!

A lot of people ask me, how did you come up with the name “Handbag Whore”? I didn’t – I heard somebody say it long ago…I can’t remember where, I think it might have been in a movie or something. Well, anyway – my girlfriends and I started using it all the time, it seemed like every time one of us got a new designer bag – we’d be like “you’re such a handbag whore!”. Each of us has our own “collection” of high fashion label bags for all occasions. As a women’s fashion accessory you can never have enough designer handbags! For me at least, it’s worse than shoes (much worse, lol).

So now you know how I came up with the name. Why did I create this website? I had a lot of ideas at first, information about all the designers and new styles, what celebrities had which designer bags, how to tell whether your handbag was authentic, or a fake knockoff. Even though I’ve purchased a lot of purses and bags retail new in the department store, I’m always looking for a good deal (what woman isn’t?). I’ve spent hours on google searching for things like “cheap designer handbags“, “handbag auctions“, “designer handbags sale“, “desiger handbag used“, and more….and sometimes I run into a great deal – and sometimes it’s all in vain.

Then, I figured out that I could search eBay for used designer bags – and lookout! I was bidding on all kinds of things (and my purse obsession was keeping me up very late at night). eBay is a tricky thing, sometimes you have to search, and search, and search, and use all different kinds of words to get down to exactly what you want. I have to admit – I got pretty good at it, and my girlfriends we’re jealous at first….but then they asked for my help. I obliged, but after looking for the hand bags ‘they’ wanted for hours – it was like a light bulb went off. I knew then I should create a web site that listed designer handbag auctions ending soon where they could just click, click, click on my site – without having to go to eBay and type all kinds of stuff in for hours on end!

Nowadays – my girlfriends and I are constantly scouring eBay for handbag deals. But having talked to many women about this (my bag obsession, lol), I do realize that some of you have never used eBay to buy anything before. If you are a power shopper like me – you have nooooo idea what you’re missing! You can buy nearly anything on eBay (new or used).
