Be sure to look for the silver nameplate that has the serial number. Pay attention to details, like the quality and workmanship – especially the stitching. If you can touch the bag in person, it should be very lightweight and never stiff. The goat’s leather that Balenciaga uses for it’s bag is a bit shiny and really holds up over time (the bags get better with age). If a bag looks really, really worn with signs of age – it may not be authentic! Because of the last two points, when a bag will slouch a bit while setting, like any good leather would. Also check for a contralloto card inside the mirror pocket. Don’t buy bags online from sellers without LOTS of nearly 100% feedback and hundreds of transactions or more.
